The Solea sits behind the W Hotel South Beach lobby. The slate and hardwood floors, glass walls, along with the outdoor dining area welcome many celebrities to the soon-to-be famous restaurant. The Solea has seating for 180. The menu has been referred to as light, flavorful, and sexy.
Chef Marc Vidal is giving South Beach the authentic taste of Spanish cuisine. The renowned Vidal has cooked under such famous culinary chefs as Ferran Adria in Spain and Alain Ducasse in Paris. Vidal is fixing exquisite dishes including the huevo frito con patatas, which is a Spanish ham and eggs. The light croquetas along with sardines are also favorites on the menu.
The salads are also receiving outstanding reviews. Among the favorites are the four plump and rosy shrimp as well as the delightful foie gras salad. The main dishes include everything from rack of lamb to filet mignon. Fresh fish are also on the menu including snapper, dorida, and bronzino. Another favorite is the baked crab cakes. They offer grilled corn, chives, and pappers. Other dishes such as exquisite rice which is loaded with shrimp, clams, and so forth is what causes the customers to continue to return.
The wine list offers a great selection from which to choose including some rare bottles from France and Spain. The desserts include some delicious treats including the Chocolate Sabotage and the coconut panna cotta. The coconut sorbet also is a delightful treat. If this is not enough maybe the milk chocolate panna cotta, chocolate mousse, or the chocolate ganache will meet your needs for something sweet.
