Lamborghini Unveils New Superleggera At Setai South Beach Miami

Earlier this week, during Swim Week in South Beach, Lamborghini unveiled its new Superleggera at the Setai Hotel. The unveiling was part of an a party that took place in the lobby of the hotel, which featured an open bar sponsored by Milagro Tequila and swimwear from bikini designer Eva Danielle.

Superleggera is a form of automobile construction technology developed by Lamborghini that translates to “super light.” The Gallardo, which is Lamborghini’s most produced model, was equipped with Superleggera technology for the first time back in 2007 with the LP 560-4. This new LP 570-4 version is a lightweight and more powerful version of the LP 560-4, equipped with a 5.2 liter V 10 engine that is capable of producing 570 horsepower. The new Superleggera Lamborghini can go 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and features a top speed of 202 mph.

The base Gallardo which comes with a V 10 engine that is capable of hitting 60 mph in 3.6 seconds costs more than $200,000. The new Superleggera is slated to cost about $40,000 more than the base model Gallardo. With this new model you are getting a much more lightweight vehicle that is capable of accelerating at a much quicker speed. Not including fluids like gasoline and oil, the car weighs less than 3,000 pounds making the Superleggera the lightest car that Lamborghini makes. Engineers were able to sculpt away 154 pounds of materials that made up the body of the vehicle in this new Lamborghini.

While older Lamborghini models were mostly designed for speed, the new Superleggera is aimed at having better control and handling while driving your Lamborghini at a top speed of 202 mph. With the lighter body and all wheel drive the Lamborghini Superleggera is much easier to handle on the road.

If you are lucky enough to have $240,000 burning a hole in your bank account then I suggest purchasing the new Superleggera. This new Lamborghini is sure to be one of the best sports cars on the market when it is finally released to the public.
