Miami International Airport

Miami International Airport (MIA), located nine miles northwest of Miami, is ranked 4th among the major United States airports. Serving Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties, MIA serves an extremely large population.

This beautiful airport is decorated with contemporary artwork representing the various areas served by Miami International Airport. It is also home to close to 50 restaurants and cafes as well as over 40 bookstores, duty free shops and boutiques providing an enjoyable experience for passengers between flights.

MIA offers four different forms of parking: valet, short term, long term and economy park and ride. Each type offers an array of services to fit the different parking needs of passengers.

Valet parking, located at North Terminal D, allows you to leave you car with the an attendant and head to your flight. They will take care of parking your car safely until you return from your trip. You will be provided with a telephone number to call upon arrival to alert the valet to have your car waiting for you when you exit the airport. Valet parking rates are: 0-3 hours for the first day is $18.00, 3-24 hours is $30, and each 24 hour period or fraction thereafter is $30. The maximum amount of time a car can stay is twenty days.

With short term parking there are two different types to choose from: upper short-term which can be accessed through the departures level and lower short-term which can be accessed on the arrivals level. Short term rates are $2.50 per half hour to a maximum of $30.00 per day.

Long term parking has two garages available to park your car safely while you are away: The Dolphin garage and The Flamingo garage. The Dolphin garage is located on the north side of the airport across from Customs E on both the departure or arrival level. It is accessible to the North Terminal D and Central Terminal D. The Flamingo is located on the south side of the airport, closest to the South Terminal G, H and J. It is accessible only on the arrival level. The parking rate is as follows: 0 to 1 hour cost $4.00, 1 to 2 hours cost $8.00, 2 to 3 hours cost $10.00, 3 to 4 hours cost $12.00, 4 to 5 hours cost $15.00, with a maximum per 24 hour period $15.00. There is a maximum stay of 60 days.

Economy park and ride is a pick up and drop off service located at designated stops throughout the parking lot and on the curb of the departure level at the center median of the Concourses. Park and ride rates are: 0 to 1 hour cost $3.00, 1 to 2 hours cost $6.00, with a maximum of $8.00 per 24 hour period.

Miami International Airport is also equipped with a disabled parking lot for passengers with wheelchairs and strollers. These spaces are located next to moving sidewalks on the 3rd level of the Dolphin and Flamingo garages.

MIA offers plenty of ground services to get you where you need to go upon arrival. There is a special shuttle and taxi pick up area. Other transportation services available are pre-arranged bus and limousine services or the Tri-Rail service which can take you from Miami to Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach. Coming May of this year is the Rental Car Center. This will be a one stop shop to take care of all of your car rental needs. This four level facility will be the home of 16 car rental companies offering you a wide variety of rentals. Whatever your transportation needs, you are sure to find what you are looking for.
